On May 26th and 27th, Herricks hosted its annual model UN conference, HMUNC. Over 150 delegates attended, including three foreign delegations: Uniondale, Manhasset, and Half Hollows Hills East. The committees for HMUNC XVII were chaired by our own Herricks Model UN veterans, who wrote detailed background guides on topics they selected. They ranged from the validity of allowing controversial podcasts on streaming services to serving in President Nixon’s inner circle to assure his win in the election of 1972. These topics revolved around justice, and they challenged our delegates to think and debate about how equality, equity, and morality play in the scheme of international politics.
