For Model UN enthusiasts at Herricks, taking the class is one of the best things you can do to improve skills as a delegate. For one, the class meets every day, granting you ample opportunity to hone your skills as a delegate and as a potential chair, as students taking the class in the second semester also make up the Head Chairs during our annual HMUNC conference. Students participating as chairs would have the chance to create their own committees with their own topics, write up background guides for their committees, create their own positions, and even create their own crisis events. An average day in the MUN classroom normally involves debating interesting topics, drafting resolutions, and cooperating with your fellow students. Taking the class also gives you a guaranteed spot in the college and high school conferences we attend. Not only will you become a better MUN delegate by taking this class, but you will also greatly improve your public speaking skills, writing and research skills, and most importantly, leadership and co-operations skills.
